Bits and Bytes

Today someone asked me the diffference between bit and byte. I don't know much about it but i know few things and that are very important and might be useful for my information. These are;
one byte = 8 bits.
Similarly, One Megabyte= 8 Megabits
For example if i wanna download a file of one MB i.e One Megabyte), it will take eight seconds if my internet connection is 1Mbps (1 Megabit per second).
For two MB, it will take 16 seconds and so on.
Similarly One Gigabyte =8 Gigabits.
In order to be a part of the digital world, you need to be able to understand the difference between bits and bytes. This difference is important because it affects how you work with digital files.
Bits are the smallest unit of information that a computer can store, and bytes are the number of bits that make up a particular type of data. When you save a file as a PDF, for example, you are saving a file as a series of bits.
There are many different types of bytes, each with its own specific purpose.
For example, a byte that represents the letter “a” in binary code would have the value of 10.
On the other hand, a byte that represents the number 9 in binary code would have the value of 11.
Bits and bytes are two different things. Bits are the smallest unit of data that can be stored, while bytes are the largest. Bits can be either a 0 or a 1, while bytes can only be 0, 1, or 2.
This is why bits and bytes are different: bits can store a lot of information, but bytes can only store two values.
